Laura Bush announced as North Country Region Volleyball Executive Director

North Country Region Volleyball, a nonprofit dedicated to provide quality, efficient, and organized experiences throughout the sport of volleyball, announces Laura Bush as Executive Director.

North Country Region Volleyball, a nonprofit dedicated to provide quality, efficient, and organized experiences throughout the sport of volleyball, announces Laura Bush as Executive Director. North Country Region Volleyball serves its membership in all aspects surrounding the sport of volleyball within Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. “Laura has a vision that coincides with the mission of North Country Region. Laura lives our vision statement, Volleyball for Life™. She brings in many years of experience and the expertise of coaching young players through skills and lessons to rebuilding Division I programs. Laura is passionate and dedicated to her work and we are excited to have her join our staff,” said NCR Board of Directors President, Twila Nogowski.

Laura Bush has over twenty years of experience coaching Division I volleyball and a near lifetime of being directly involved with the sport of volleyball. Her college coaching duties extended well beyond the court and recruiting student-athletes. She has extensive experience with creating and implementing an organization’s strategic vision, developing and overseeing budgets, and assessing the overall organization effectiveness. She has proven to be able to serve an organization successfully in a multitude of roles.

Mike Hebert, Volleyball Hall of Fame One of her strengths is her ability to maintain a consistent outlook in meetings when conflicting political interest groups are debating a controversial topic. Her naturally calm demeanor is appreciated by all those looking for a fair outcome.

“I am excited to join NCR and work in partnership with the Board of Directors to achieve the goals that serve our membership. We have a lot of good work ahead of us in building relationships with our members, growing the game of volleyball in all parts of our region, and creating policies and procedures which best serve the region. Our region has the potential for so much growth, and I believe we can be a model for all USAV regions. I cannot wait to start!”

Currently, Ms Bush is contracted with Kokoro Volleyball Club as a coach for a 15 and under team and lead positional training coach. She will taper her duties with Kokoro Volleyball Club as she completes her coaching duties through the club season. Start date with North Country Region Volleyball is April 1.
