As part of its mission to enhance the development and promote the sport of volleyball, North Country Region has announced grant information for the 2018-19 season. This is the first time that NCR has funded and will distribute over $25,000.00 in total grant funding for a season.

North Country Region is partnering with The Minnesota Boys High School Volleyball Association by providing funding to assist with membership fees for NCR and USAV. A total of $12,300 will go towards junior boys membership with the goal of increasing volleyball participation across Minnesota High Schools. This past spring, The Minnesota Boys’ High School Volleyball League began its first season of play with 22 schools and over 400 participants in the Minneapolis metro area competing.

In addition, it was announced that 10 one-thousand dollar grants will be awarded through an application process to teams who competed in the 2018 NCR Area Championships. A minimum of one team from each of the Region’s eight areas will be selected, plus two at-large area programs. Application information will be available online by August 1, 2018, detailing the qualifications and criteria for selection

Finally, a $7,500 grant will go towards developing the officials pool across North Country Region. Awards will go towards the recruitment of officials while allowing current officials to hone their skills through attendance of clinics and seminars.
