2025 Club Directors of Year

what they say about Ross...

He took a risk in 2024/2025 and led the first year of Team'Sota to a strong standing by the end of the season. He put a coaching staff together, including a Strength and conditioning component to help complement the volleyball. The boys got stronger and their conditioning improved, allowing them to compete strong through 3-4 day tournaments.

This club in its inaugural season has made significant strides to prove itself a contender in the NCR division and in the country in terms of boys volleyball. Coach Ross believes that everyone that has a passion to play this sport should have the opportunity to do so and formed this club on that premise. He has been transparent about how he is envisioning the growth of the club and has invested heavily in supporting all teams this season. Ross is always available for players and parents and works hard to make sure they get the best possible result from their experiences. He has promoted a holistic approach to teaching the boys how to excel and become the best they can be. This club has built a community that trains together, travels together, and celebrates together! This is my son’s first year in club and he is so happy to be with Team Sota under Ross’ leadership. As a parent, I want to support my son in all aspects of his development but this was a tough decision for me to make financially and Ross was very supportive and accommodating to us so that my son could have this experience. I’m so very grateful for what he has put together as this is a truly special club to be part of.

what they say about Alexis...

Alexis has been working non stop with our coaches to make sure our children get the best possible experience. Alexis not only coaches her own team but when she realized the turnout at tryouts was bigger than expected she immediately stepped into coaching another team and has been to every practice since. Alexis takes time to build confidence and skill in each athlete and sees every potential and opportunities a player has. Alexis has offered coaches mental health training with her coaches to better support athletes and has offered coaching clinics and other coaching resources to help us be better. Alexis coaches these girls to be leaders on and off the court and gives them the strength to be successful outside of volleyball. Alexis organized a big sister, little sister program within the program to help with our younger girls and make them feel supported and confident. Alexis has grown the game for all of our athletes and has given our girls the opportunity to play again after the old director left. Alexis immediately reached out to us and got things rolling for her to take it over.

Annie is so encouraging and kind to everyone. She works hard for Freeze and truly wants to help you get better at volleyball. I love having her as a director, she always has something good to say and can help you be more confident in yourself. She puts in great effort and commitment into the club so that everyone has opportunities.

what they say about Carrie...

Carrie is an outstanding leader. She provides mentorship and guidance to a number of coaches. She directs a club with a mission to not turn athletes away. She has started academy which allows for skills training to those athletes who don’t want to travel or who didn’t make a team. She added national level teams to our club this year, providing more opportunities to young girls in our community. She is passionate about the growth and opportunities at CVC can offer our community and beyond. This season we faced a devastating loss when an athlete suffered a medical emergency during practice and lost her life. Carrie provided so much support for our athletes, their families, and coaches. She was a rock for everyone and handled this with grace.

Curt Glesmann is one of the most giving and successful directors in the nation. He treats his staff to a Christmas party, he provides one month free for all 300+ players in the club, he spends an extraordinary amount of time planning an end-of-season banquet. He added a boys program two years ago to the club, which has grown significantly. He organizes and hosts major national tournaments and qualifiers. The club remains in the nation’s top 50 clubs every year.
