NCR Rating Sessions are on the website Calendar. Please contact Travis at travis.karlin@gmail.com to sign up to be rated for a Provisional or Regional certification at a live tournament.
NCR wants to extend a special THANK YOU to ALL Officials who participating in this year's Annual Presidents' Day Festival!! The influence of an Official is what makes a tournament a huge success! We are now taking names of interested officials for the 20th Annual Presidents' Day Festival on February 13-14th, 2010. Please contact Cara if you are interested.
Non-national referees are permitted to officiate as line judges at Opens for the Open Division competition only. The teams provide line judges for all other divisions except the finals. We would prefer that officials have been certified "regional". The dates that line judges would be needed are May 23-26. I would need to know the names of those interested from the North Country Region and the times/dates available. I would also need to know email addresses so that I can send them a contract and W-9 for their services.
We could also use Regional Scorekeepers to serve as Assistant Scorekeepers for the Open matches.

With the Girls' JOVC playing schedule now established, we have finalized the rating dates for Junior National referee candidates, and we also made a slight adjustment to the National referee candidate rating schedule. The online information and application are being updated as we speak, and I want to make sure you receive this information as well so that it can be shared with your candidates this year. Here are the related updates:
· The Premier Training Camp will be held at the Girls' JOVC in Miami from June 26-28. Experienced Regional referees, existing Junior National or National referees, and Junior National or National referee candidates are eligible and encouraged to attend. Unless a Regional referee is also a Junior National referee candidate, she/he will be limited to participating only in the camp and will not be eligible to work other sessions of the JOVC. Please contact Gloria Cox (gloria-cox@austin.rr.com), Director of USAV Training Camps, for further information.
· The Junior National referee candidate rating session will be June 29-July 1 at the Girls' JOVC in Miami. Junior National candidates must attend the candidates' meeting on Sunday, June 28, at 5pm. Candidates (as well as anyone attending the Premier Training Camp) must attend a USAV National Clinic this year. Two clinics will be hosted at the Girls' JOVC – Thursday, June 25 at 6pm, and Sunday, June 28, at 6pm. NOTE: Existing Junior National and National referees are required to attend a USAV National Clinic prior to officiating at a national championship event.)
· Junior National candidates that they should not attempt to register to attend the Girls' JOVC until their application is accepted. Accepted candidates will be notified by May 1.
· The National referee candidate rating session at the Boys' JOVC (Atlanta, GA) will take place from July 2-4. Candidates may depart on July 5 or any date thereafter. National candidates must attend the candidates' meeting on Wednesday, July 1 at 7pm.
· Remember that you must fill out an application to be accepted as a candidate (http://www.usavolleyball.org/content/index/3214). This is due to the National Office April 1st. You should send the application to Travis, as referee chair (travis.karlin@gmail.com) by March 3rd at the latest. He will set up a time for you to be rated and coached by the NCR Rating team to ensure you are ready for the process, prior to forwarding it to the Regional Commissioner and National Office. NCR will pay for your application fee for your first attempt.
