This newsletter is an informational publication that is sent out approximately ten times per year. It is sent to all registered members (18 years and older) with a valid e-mail address. More detailed information can be found at www.ncrusav.org.

The NCR Staff is here to help the members have a successful season!


North Country Region represents Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the upper peninsula of Michigan.

IMPORTANT NEWS
  1. USA Volleyball Development Camp will be hosted at Bethel University this summer (July 13-16). Program details here.

  2. Volley for Meghan. U.S. A-2 Women's Volleyball Team Scrimmage. Thursday, May 21st, 2009. Time: 6-8 PM, Cost: $5, Where: U of M Sports Pavilion.

  3. Are you looking for summer camps? We have a list on our website.

  4. Good Luck to all teams participating at Nationals.

  5. Congratulations to our Meritorious Service Award winners: Shannon Avenson, Dan Kuna, Gene McBride, Jen Nelson, and Dennis Nucech.

  6. Congratulations to our Founder's Award Winner: Gail Nucech.

  8. NCR Area event results. There were 682 teams that participated. Thanks for making this a great event.

  9. NCR Regional National Qualifier results.

  11. Refund policy-Once registrations have been received and checked in, there is NO membership refund.

  12. Updated Rules Interpretations

  13. All Coaches must be IMPACT certified prior to Nationals. NO IMPACT clinics will be held at Nationals. The last IMPACT clinic is scheduled for May 6th. Please contact Jennifer to register.

  14. Attention tournament directors: if you are interested in having paid officials for your event, please contact Cara ext. 16.

  15. Uniform information-Uniforms numbered 1-99, centered on front (4”) on back (6”) highly recommended (6”) on front and (8”) on back.

  17. Background Screenings-Any adult involved with a junior team must have a background screen and be a member (of North Country Region). The screen is good for two seasons. If your name is NOT on the list you will need to be screened this season.

We offer all age divisions and all skill levels!

JUNIOR BOYS

Divisions:

  • Coed Elementary: 6th grade and under;
  • Junior High: 7th-9th Grade;
  • Senior High: 10th-12th grade.

  • JUNIOR GIRLS

    Ages 18 and under

    • NOTE: Teams can add players, coaches, chaperones, etc at anytime. Send in the proper paperwork and membership fee with a copy of the current roster or a note stating EXACTLY what team to add the person to.

      • If interested in Hiring Officials for upcoming tournaments, please contact Cara (ext. 16 or cara@ncrusav.org).
      • If interested in becoming a Junior Officials Clinician please contact Cara (ext. 16 or cara@ncrusav.org).
    • The Junior Olympic Girls Volleyball Championships will be held in Miami, Florida (June 26-July 5).

    IMPACT COACHES CLINIC

    All coaches need to be IMPACT certified in order to coach.

  • If interested in hosting an IMPACT Coaching Clinic for 08-09 season, please complete the request form.
  • You only need to attend one IMPACT clinic during the duration of your JO coaching career. However, you may attend additional clinics at no cost.
  • OFFICIALS

    • The Officials Division would like to announce the opening of a new blog associated with the referee training site. The blog is open to all volleyball referees and will be moderated by Mike Carter, Officials Representative to the USA Volleyball Board of Directors. The blog can be found by clicking on the word blog above.

    • Officiating opportunities are available, please go to our website to see which tournaments you would like to sign up for.

    • The Referee and Scorekeeping exams are available online.
    • There is a new referee training website (it does cost money). The videos are the only training videos sanctioned by USA Volleyball.
