Dear Member:

This newsletter is an informational publication that is sent out approximately ten times per year. It is sent to all registered members (18 years and older) with a valid e-mail address. More detailed information can be found at www.ncrusav.org.


North Country Region represents Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the upper peninsula of Michigan.

IMPORTANT NEWS

  1. Our prayers and sympathy go out to the Bachman family in this time of sorrow.
  2. Members please thank NBC for their coverage and encourage (if not demand) that more volleyball be shown on a regular basis (not just every four years).
  3. North Country Region members can received discounted tickets to Gopher volleyball. Click here for details.
  4. AVP Hot Winter Nights is coming again January 29th to the Target Center. More information on discount tickets coming soon. Mark your calendars!
  5. Registration information will be posted online October 1st. The registration packets will be mailed the last week of September.
  6. Congratulations to Tori Dixon (Savage, MN), Molly Kreklow (Hamlake, MN) and Ashley Wittman (Shakopee, MN) for making the 2008 USA Girls' Youth National Training Team.
  7. Join the Sports Alliance of Minnesota—BECOME A RESPECTED MEMBER! Membership in the Sports Alliance of Minnesota (SAM) is open to individuals and all youth sports organizations. Organizations can be one team, a single sport with teams at various levels, or an organization that covers a variety of sports with lots of teams. Membership is FREE.
  8. Background Screenings-Any adult involved with a junior team must have a background screen and be a member (of North Country Region). The screen is good for two seasons. If your name is NOT on the list you will need to be screened this season.

JUNIOR BOYS

  • Divisions:

        1. Coed Elementary: 6th grade and under
        2. Junior High: 7th-9th grade
        3. Senior High: 10th-12th grade

  • JUNIOR GIRLS

    Ages 18 and under

    • Registration information will be posted online October 1st. The registration packets will be mailed the last week of September
    • If you would like your try-out information posted, please contact Ken (ext. 12 or ken@ncrusav.org)
    • Event sanction is posted.
    • You can post an ad on our website for teams looking for players, players looking for teams and coaches wanted. Please send information to ken@ncrusav.org.

    IMPACT COACHES CLINIC

    All coaches need to be IMPACT certified in order to coach.

  • We will be posting our 2008-2009 Impact Coaches Clinic schedule on Oct. 1st. You can check that schedule here.
  • If interested in hosting an IMPACT Coaching Clinic for 08-09 season, please complete the request form.
  • You only need to attend one IMPACT clinic during the duration of your JO coaching career. However, you may attend additional clinics at no cost.
  • OFFICIALS

    • Good luck on your college, high school and middle school matches! If you meet a new official make sure you let them know about NCR.
    • Dates for the NEW Advanced Training clinics coming next month.
    • Mark your calendar for the 19th Annual Presidents' Day Festival February 15, 2009. If you would like to officiate please contact Cara (cara@ncrusav.org).

    • There is a new referee training website (it does cost money). The videos are available at www.volleyballreftraining.com . The videos are the only training videos sanctioned by USA Volleyball.
