REFEREE TRAINING SESSIONLocation:
New Life Church, 6036 NE 12th Ave., Pleasant Hill, IA Time: 9AM- 5PMVOLLEYBALL REFEREE CLINIC
SATURDAY JANUARY 9, 2010 PLEASANT HILL, IACo-hosted by the Iowa and Great Plains Regions. You should come if you. . . - are new to refereeing . . . - have some experience, but want to expand your knowledge of volleyball refereeing . . . - want to travel to work as a referee. . . - want to meet great people and have fun . . - want to learn the current USAV rules and techniques from a national clinician . . .
The Iowa & Great Plains USA Volleyball Regions will be co-hosting a clinic for volleyball referees who want to advance their skills or who want to learn more about officiating volleyball. This clinic is open to volleyball referees of all skill levels. The clinic will concentrate primarily on USA Volleyball rules and mechanics, but also presents tips and techniques that are useful to National Federation (high school) or NCAA (PAVOcollegiate) referees.
The day starts with the USA Volleyball National clinic. At the beginning of each season USAV conducts rules clinics around the country using a cadre of clinicians to provide consistent information about rules and techniques.
The afternoon session will included several Advanced Referee sessions tailored to your current skill level, experience, and interests.
The topics covered include volleyball officiating mechanics, protocols and philosophies.
These sessions are designed to help you improve your officiating skills and take you to the next level.
A demand exists for good officials at high school, college, and USAV competitions. After completing this clinic, you will have more opportunities to participate in USAV events.
Even if you choose not to do so, this is a good way to prepare for next year’s fall high school or college season.

National level officials, PLEASE make sure that any emails that come from George Egan (george.egan@usav.org), Kathy Ferraraccio (kathy@ferraraccio.com) or Glenn Reid (greid55@aol.com) are allowed through so officials do not miss important messages about dues, exams, rule changes, etc sent from those people.
