Dear Member:

This newsletter is an informational publication that is sent out approximately ten times per year. It is sent to all registered members (18 years and older) with a valid e-mail address. More detailed information can be found at www.ncrusav.org.

Good luck to all teams participating at the state volleyball tournaments!

North Country Region represents Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the upper peninsula of Michigan.

IMPORTANT NEWS
  1. Our phone extensions have changed!! Please listen carefully to the phone message. New extensions are on the right hand side of the newsletter.

  2. Commitment Letter can be viewed prior to tryouts. Please read carefully as many programs are using this document. Questions, call Ken (ext. 2).

  3. New-Rulebooks will be printed every two years. The rulebook you receive this year will be for 2009-10 and the 2010-11 seasons.

  4. Uniform information-Uniforms numbered 1-99, centered on front (4") on back (6") highly recommended (6") on front and (8") on back.

  5. Looking for officials for the 20th Annual Presidents' Day Festival, February 14. Contact Cara (ext. 5) to sign up.

  6. North Country Region USA Volleyball is looking for advertisers for the 20th Annual Presidents’ Day Festival program. Contact Judy (ext.1) to reserve a space. Ad rates

  7. North Country Region members receive discounted tickets for University of Minnesota volleyball.

  8. Become a fan of the NCAA Volleyball.

  9. Kaepa USA, Inc, Official Outfitter of NCR, is currently accepting applications for Junior Clubs who may be interested in becoming a Kaepa Sponsored Club. Available slots for the 2009/2010 season are limited. Please contact sama@kaepa-usa.com for more information.

  11. Background Screenings-Any adult involved with a junior team must have a background screen and be a member (of North Country Region). The screen is good for two seasons. If your name is NOT on the list you will need to be screened this season.

  12. Minnesota National Girls and Women in Sports Day is a time to celebrate the accomplishments in girls and women in sports, to recognize our Minnesota leaders and athletes. Nominate someone you know.-link

JUNIOR BOYS (Ages 18 and under)

Divisions:

  • Coed Elementary: 6th grade and under
  • Junior High: 7th-9th Grade
  • Senior High: 10th-12th grade


  • JUNIOR GIRLS (Ages 18 and under)

    • New this year-Tournament directors have the option to let the Libero serve. This is only for non-qualifying events in North Country Region only. If you have questions, please contact Ken, ext. 2.

    • Event sanction information.
    • The Junior Officials' Clinic schedule is posted. All registrations for the Junior Officials' clinic are open to all members and go through Cara (ext. 5) or cara@ncrusav.org.
    • If your team/club would like to host an Junior Officials' clinic, please complete the Host a clinic form.
    • If interested in becoming a junior Officials clinician, please contact Cara (ext. 5 or cara@ncrusav.org).
    • If you are interested in Hiring Officials for upcoming tournaments, please contact Cara (ext. 5 or cara@ncrusav.org).
    • 2010 USA Volleyballl Girls Junior National Championships will be held in Reno, NV (June 26-July 3). For more information, contact USA Volleyball.

    IMPACT COACHES CLINIC

    All coaches need to be IMPACT certified in order to coach.

    • Impact Coaches Clinics will begin December 2009.
    • You only need to attend one IMPACT clinic during the duration of your JO coaching career. However, you may attend additional clinics at no cost.
    • If interested in hosting an IMPACT Coaching Clinic for 2009-10 season, please complete the request form.
  • OFFICIALS

    • Advanced Clinics schedule is posted.
